Governance

Westwood International School (WIS)is a non-profit organization almost entirely dependent on fee income.

WIS is governed by The School Council, comprised of: Representatives from the permanent and voting Founder Member organizations; voting Parent Member Representatives who are elected into office for 2-year tenures, and a non-voting seat for a liason from the United States Embassy in Botswana.

The School Council appoints the Head of School, and collectively provide fiduciary oversight of the execution of his duties.

The Head of School is reported to by The Secondary Principal, The Primary Principal and the Business Manager. Together they form the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for the day to day management of the School.

Wherever needed, a Leadership Consultant may be engaged to augment the function of the SLT.
